Katy’s passion for ocean conservation started at a young age when she began free diving and became aware of the threats facing our oceans. Since then, she has been working to protect our oceans and the creatures that call it home.

Katy has been following Seabin’s journey since 2016, after being introduced to the Seabin Project through her career as a sustainability coordinator. She started off assisting with beach clean-ups, data recording, and educational events in LA and has now stepped into an Environmental Technician role in Philadelphia as part of Seabin’s Delaware River project.

Seabin is a global initiative aimed at cleaning up the ocean by capturing plastic and other pollutants in marinas, ports, and harbors. With the help of volunteers like Katy, Seabin can continue to develop innovative solutions for cleaner oceans.

We are thrilled to introduce Katy Waters, the first volunteer for Seabin's Smart City program in Los Angeles.

Katy’s dedication to ocean conservation and her work as a volunteer is inspiring. We are grateful for her contribution to Seabin’s mission and for sharing her passion for protecting the ocean with our global community. Her work is a reminder that we can all make a difference in the fight against plastic pollution and protect our planet.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Katy Waters and all the volunteers who are working towards a cleaner, healthier ocean. Their commitment and hard work are invaluable in protecting our planet for future generations.
