Seabin at the 7th International Marine Debris conference

Seabin, the global initiative aimed at cleaning up the ocean by capturing plastic and other pollutants in marinas, ports, and harbors, was recently in the limelight. The Seabin team presented at the 7th International Marine Debris Conference held in Busan, South Korea, from the 18th to the 23rd of September.

Every four years, theconference brought together governments, industry, academia, civil society, and all relevant stakeholders to address the urgent, global problem of marine litter and plastic pollution. Seabin CEO Pete Ceglinski joined Mahi Paquette, Seabin Foundation CEO, and Seabin Foundation Campaign and Data Coordinator Sol Wadani to present Seabin’s marine debris data collection technology and monitoring.

The Seabin team presented on all aspects of Seabin marine debris data collection, including capture technology, data and marine health monitoring, community engagement, and social license. They published seven posters and presented four technical sessions alongside other organizations such as UNEP, NOAA, the EU Commission representatives, The Ocean Cleanup, Ocean Conservancy, and many more.

Seabin’s participation in the conference demonstrates the organization’s commitment to finding solutions and catalyzing action to address the urgent, global problem of marine litter and plastic pollution.
